It’s time for the Chelsea Girl Scouts annual food drive to help Faith in Action restock their shelves for the upcoming holiday season.

On Saturday, Nov. 8, scouts will be on-hand at Polly’s Country Market from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.to hand out a list of sought after items for FIA, collect donated items as shoppers leave, and deliver the gathered food to FIA.

Though a recommended list will be available, any donation would be welcomed by the local food bank. The fundraiser is being coordinator by Cadette Troop 41095, which includes 7th-graders Sydney Collins, Meg Ford, Grace Jacobusse, Keller Johnson, and Ava Mater.

Anita Mosier, Chelsea Girl Scout area manager, encourages residents to turn their weekly grocery shopping trip into an opportunity to help their community. “Just adding an extra item or two to your cart can go a long way in assisting FIA in helping our neighbors.”

There is also the option to donate cash the day of the food drive. Scouts will then use the money to purchase items from the suggested shopping list for FIA.
