Oct. 17: Chelsea Board of Education candidate forum

Here’s a link to the candidate’s profiles that published on Chelsea Update.

The Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate forum on Oct 17  for the four candidates who are running for two seats on the Chelsea Board of Education in the November election that will take place in the Chelsea City Council chambers.

Running for the 6-year seats on board are Ryan Barney, James Parry Eyster, Marina Martinez-Kratz and Keri Poulter.

The highest two vote getters will be elected to the board.

Moderating the forum is Chamber Board of Directors Vice President Paul Schissler and questions asked will be a combination of predetermined questions by the Chamber of Commerce and questions submitted from the public the evening of the forum.

For questions submitted by the audience, the candidates will be divided into 2 groups. Audience questions will be alternated between the groups to limit redundancy in responses.

Candidates will be given an opportunity to answer a question even if that question is not addressed to his or her group.

The program for the forum will be as follows:

Welcome and rules by Paul Schissler

Opening statement by each candidate — 3 minutes each

Questions from the audience — 2 minutes each
