(Chelsea Update would like to thank Ann Ziolkowski for the information in this story.)

Lyndon Township is hosting an open house for the community on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.

Everyone is invited to join the festivities that include tours of the newly remodeled Lyndon Township Hall located at 17751 N. Territorial Road near M-52 and a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting at the Border to Border (B2B) Trailhead.

Representatives from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission (WCPARC), and the Huron Waterloo Pathway Initiative (HWPI) will participate in the ribbon cutting.

The Chelsea Area Fire Authority (CAFA) will be on site for the grand opening of the Township Hall and will showcase the portion of the building dedicated to fire equipment.

CAFA will also have the Rokon rescue trailer on display. The new search and rescue trailer will assist in extracting injured hikers, mountain bikers and others stranded on trails or in remote locations.

Staff from HWPI and WCPARC will have booths at the event featuring B2B Trail updates, giveaway items, and snacks including cider and donuts.

The event will take place rain or shine.
