Patrick O’Boyle from Michigan Saves is joining the group from Transition Town Chelsea at the Chelsea Senior Center for a presentation on solar financing for homes and businesses.
Because solar pays you back over time, you can simultaneously pay for the solar over time and come out ahead month-to-month. O’Boyle will explain how the financing works in general and his company’s solar lending program in particular.
He will cover topics such as how the loan is structured usually over 10 years, the monthly costs that could be expected for a residential solar installation, how these costs are offset each month by savings on your electric bill, how tax credits work into the plan, and getting connected to an installer from their contractor network.
The potluck meal begins at 6:30 p.m. and the free presentation begins at 7:15 p.m. If you are coming to the potluck meal, please bring a dish to pass and your own place settings.
