Along with community partners, St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will oversee a drug take back event on Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Chelsea Retirement Community, located at 805 W. Middle St.
The community is invited to turn in unused or expired medications for safe disposal – free of charge. This event will help protect the community, children and the environment by safely disposing of medications.
Accepted medications for disposal:
- Prescription medications in tablet form
- Controlled substances in tablet form
- Over-the-counter medications
- Syringes
Unaccepted medications for disposal:
- Liquids
- Inhalers
- Patches
These events are good, but what I’ve come to know is that you can drop off at police station at any time. Talk to the front counter when you come in and they help you.
