(Chelsea Update would like to thank Jordan Nelson for the information in this story.)
The Homecoming Parade is a staple in the Chelsea community, offering student clubs and sports an opportunity to feature themselves. The parade also continues to serve as a way for alumni to stay connected with their alma mater and cheer for the Blue & Gold.
This year, the parade will begin at 5:15 pm on Friday, Oct. 4. The parade will leave from the parking lot behind the Purple Rose Theatre Company and turn southward onto Main Street before heading down Park Street, Madison Street, Washington Street, and ending at the Washington Street Education Center.
The parade will feature floats representing each current class at CHS dressed in their respective Homecoming themes; while the overall theme is Superheroes, the Senior class theme is Spider-Man, the Junior class theme is Batman, the Sophomore class theme is Captain America, and the Freshman class theme is Superman. Other fall sports teams and active CHS clubs will be featured in the parade. These include nominees from each class for the CHS Excellence Award, our annual Homecoming award recognizing outstanding character in our CHS students.
The parade will be lead, as always, by the “Pride of Chelsea” 2024 CHS Marching Band.
