Oct. 6: ‘Not Politics as Usual Direct Dialoguing’ event

The Chelsea District Library and Chelsea Senior Center will co-host “Direct Dialoguing on the Double,” an afternoon devoted to civil, one-on-one conversation with state and local elected officials.

The event will take place Oct. 6 from 2-4 p.m. at the Washington Street Education Center (500 Washington St.) and will follow a speed dating format, allowing everyone a 3-minute conversation with the representatives of their choice.

Have you ever wished for a minute to talk with your state senator about protecting Michigan’s water supply?

Or do you want a chance to chat with the mayor about local park planning?

Maybe you are curious to know what the Chelsea School District superintendent has planned for the upcoming bond proposal?

Ask questions, respectfully voice your opinions, and enjoy this unique opportunity to meet the people who represent you.

Officials planning to attend are: Chelsea Fire Chief Robert Arbini, City Manager John Hanifan, Mayor Melissa Johnson, Chelsea School District Superintendent Julie D. Helber, State Representative Donna Lasinski, Washtenaw County Commissioner Jason Maciejewski, Senator Gary Peters, Dexter Township Supervisor Harley Rider, State Senator Lana Theis, and Police Chief Ed Toth
