As part of the Paint Chelsea Pink, the Susan G. Komen fundraiser on Sept. 29, there will be a kids zone in the Palmer Parking lot.

Thanks to a unanimous vote of the Chelsea City Council on Sept. 11, the committee putting on the event was given approval to use the lot. Permission for “Inflate Your Party” to set up in the public lot is required my city ordinance.

Chelsea firefighter Scott Basar, chairman of the Paint Chelsea Pink event, has hired the company to set up a kids area with blow-up slides, bounce houses, face painting and other activities for children, according to a letter to the City Council.

The organizers are expecting between 2,000-5,000 people.
