“Clawson, Clarkston, Waterford, Midland, Brighton, Dublin, Dexter, Linden…”

Sounds like a verse from that classic oldie “Get Your Kicks on Route 66” but no, it’s just some of the cities on Steve Wood’s “Anyone Can Paint Senior Tour.”

According to his website, the award-winning artist and public access television how-to instructor visits over 30 senior centers and retirement communities every month.

His relaxed and playful step-by-step teaching style puts students of every age immediately at ease and I can attest to that fact.

I recently took his class at the Chelsea Senior Center where he is a fixture on the center’s calendar and a highlight of the month every fourth Monday from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Not only was Steve an entertaining instructor but there was a wide range of ages participating and he kept us all on track and feeling good about our work.
