Chelsea Girl Scout troops 42801 and 41097 are coordinating a fundraising effort to replace the Pierce Park tree that is used for the tree lighting during the Hometown Holiday celebration each December.

The scouts are hoping to raise $525 to remove and replace the diseased and dying tree near the gazebo with a full-grown healthy tree.

The two Chelsea Girl Scout troops saw the need and met with Chelsea City Manager John Hanifan, who has approved and supports this community service project.

There are two ways to help.

On May 20 from 6-8:30 p.m., head to Chelsea Lanes for a bowling fundraiser or donate here.
