(Chelsea Update would like to thank Steve Wright for the information in this story.)
In addition to the possibility of participating in the reconstruction of the Timbertown play structure on Aug. 6-11 (volunteers especially needed for the latter days of the week), we are making a last call for tools that will be required in the construction.
The design team, Play by Design has compiled an extensive list of things that will be needed during the construction. To review the list, go to the Timbertown Reimagined website https://www.timbertownchelsea.org/ and select the Volunteer tab and then the Lend Tools/Equipment button and read the list which specifies the item and number requested.
After you sign up, you will be reminded before the build week of Aug. 6-11 to bring the tools to the Timbertown site on the days of August 4-5. We will label all lent items and they can be picked up after Aug. 11.
The tools will be stored in locked containers overnight and used by the supervised volunteers who come to work on the shifts.
Other information about the project is available on the website and if you have any specific questions regarding the tool loan program, contact the tool captain Steve Wright by email at [email protected] or by phone or text at 734 476-4603.
At this point, we have a few key requests that remain to be filled in significant numbers. These include cordless screwdrivers, cordless impact drivers, speed squares and four-foot levels.
Specialty items that we may still need to provide one or two of include cordless orbital jigsaws, cordless circular saws, laminate routers, rotary hammer, portable bandsaw, air compressor, track saw (not on tool list) and utility pumps in case we need to pump out the postholes after a rain.
