PTO’s Bulldog Jog fun event for elementary school students

Story and photos by Lisa Carolin

Students at South Meadows Elementary School had the benefit of an unseasonably warm October day to enjoy time outside keeping up the annual tradition of the Bulldog Jog.

Last week, North Creek Elementary School students also participated in the Bulldog Jog in the morning, while South Meadows students did so in the afternoon.

Parent Josh Kuck was the announcer at South Meadows and helped motivate the students to do their preparatory calisthenics followed by the Jog.

Each grade did the jog separately, and students had their own styles of pacing themselves. Some ran hard then ran out of steam while others chose a more relaxed pace.

Kuck reminded the fifth-grade participants, “This is your last Bulldog Jog.”

The Bulldog Jog is a fundraiser for the PTO, and the Chelsea Kiwanis Club provided apple slices for all participants.
