Public High School Hockey Showcase at Arctic Coliseum Feb.4-Feb. 10

If you like high school hockey, next week you’ll what to attend the third annual Michigan Public High School Hockey Showcase, which will take place at Arctic Coliseum, from Monday, Feb. 4 through Sunday, Feb. 10.

More than 60 teams will be playing and the event is billed as not only the largest high school athletic showcase but also the largest public high school showcase in the history of high school athletics in the state of Michigan, according to information about the event.

Hockey teams will include Division I, II and III public high school programs from around the state, including Brighton, the 2012 Division 1 State Champions and Novi, the 2011 champs.

Since its inaugural year in 2011, the showcase has added more teams and games, and to accommodate the large schedule of play, another day was added this year.

In addition, the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce will have a community table in the lobby on Monday, Feb. 4 and all businesses, regardless of whether they are chamber members are not, are invited to bring menus, brochures, or special promotions to the chamber office on Thursday, Jan. 31 or on Friday, Feb. 1 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. or materials can be brought directly to the coliseum next week.

For most of the week, it will be an “unmanned” table, but it also provides a great opportunity for promotion of your business, restaurant or cafe to visiting families.
