Seventy-six posts later, not that I counted or anything, Chelsea Update’s extensive coverage of the 86th Annual Chelsea Community Fair is a wrap.
The weather was perfect, the events were fantastic, and this was the best fair I’ve covered in the last 20-plus years.
I hope readers enjoyed the hundreds of photos provided by Alan Ashley, Randall Lee and Burrill Strong. When I couldn’t be there, a huge thank you goes out to Sarah Norris for her photos as well.
These hardworking photographers were everywhere — capturing events, people, participants, Midway rides, and animals.
Thank you also to Lisa Carolin and Crystal Hayduk, with help from Megan Hayduk, covering events for me as well. And I can’t forget Don Hayduk, who took care of and amused Aidan, when I was gone from home so much and he was home alone.
When I wasn’t at fair taking photos and doing interviews for stories, I was here — up late at night and early in the morning — editing, coding and uploading everyone else’s amazing efforts. All with one fully functional eye, which made things even more exhausting and yes, challenging.
So, a huge thank you to the fair board members, past and present, and the Chelsea Athletic Boosters for all the golf cart rides around the fairgrounds to cover events as well.
This week I’ll be taking some time off to recover. I might even begin working on next year’s cross-stitch piece between naps.
