Publisher’s message: Chelsea Spring Expo 2013

The Veterans Honor Guard of Washtenaw County were on hand at the Chelsea Spring Expo 2013.

I attended the Chelsea Spring Expo at the Chelsea Area Senior Center yesterday and all I can say is “wow.”

For those of you who weren’t able to go, you missed an amazing display of everything that makes Chelsea such a special place to live. From the non-profits to small businesses to all the cottage industry vendors who had amazing items for sale – this was a great place to learn more about the community in which we live.

And did I mention the huge senior center bake sale? A raspberry cake, Dutch apple pie and several types of cookies found their way home with me. I look forward to tasting them all and sharing them with my friends.

The 7th annual expo was better than billed. There was something for everyone — from SRSLY’s kid zone to free goodies to wonderful music by the Chelsea House Orchestra and door prizes.

This was truly a terrific event, and my hat’s off to all the volunteers and organizers who put this together.

I had so much fun and took so many wonderful photos that I’ll be running them for a number of days to come — so keep an eye out for them.

And to everyone who took the time to chat with me and tell me how much they enjoy Chelsea Update — thank you so very much. Please know that I couldn’t do this without the community’s support. I feel like everyone has embraced this site and I could not do it without your help — from the information and photos you send to the generous donations you make.

  1. We missed seeing you at the Volunteer Chelsea launch, Lisa. I most definitely agree with you about the Expo. Great job to the Senior Center for organizing this really cool event every year!
