Publisher’s Message: First Day of the 83rd Annual Chelsea Community Fair Coverage

Long time readers know that Aug.1 marks the start of Chelsea Update’s extensive coverage of my favorite time of year – the Chelsea Community Fair.

From volunteer opportunities to events, photos, schedule information, feature stories, event coverage – everything you’d want to know about the 83rd edition can be found on Chelsea Update.

Each day leading up to the big week from Aug. 24 through Aug. 29, we’ll provide all the news you need to know including lots and lots of photos.

So, let’s start with the fair’s website, which provides a quick reference when you need a question answered right away: www.chelseafair.org.

For breaking news, check out the fair Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Chelsea-Community-Fair-220933774662379. The volunteer fair folks are pretty quick getting back to folks who contact them.

And I highly recommend either downloading this year’s fair book from the website for specific rules and classes for your Green Barn entries, or picking up a paper copy, which can be found at McCalla Feeds, Chelsea District Library, Farmers’ Supply, Parts Peddler, and Dexter Mill while supplies last.

And if you’d like to talk to one of the fair volunteers in person in the fair office, it’s open for questions or for purchases of this year’s fair T-shirts, (for $10 each) on Aug. 8, 12 and 19 from 6-8 p.m., on Sunday Aug. 22 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and all during fair week.

And since fair is my No. 1 priority all month, please be patient if you’ve sent me an email and are looking for a quick response or want information published – please build in some additional time for me to get to it. And please leave a message if you call, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Happily, this August, will once again be my busiest and favorite time of year. (And, yes, I will have another large farm-themed cross-stitch entry this year for folks who have already been asking.)

Hope to see everyone at fair.
