As part of our Christmas gift to the community, in addition to helping readers learn about the people who make Chelsea such an amazing city, we’d also like you to get to know the businesses in town as well.

This sector of the community is just as integral in the tapestry of Chelsea as the folks behind the scenes who keep it running. Without these businesses, Chelsea would not be the charming small town destination it is today.

How many of you can say you’ve stepped inside every business in town? I bet there are very few of you. And it’s not surprising, there are hundreds of them, with many new businesses opening their doors as well.

This new series of stories is planned to entice you to step inside their front doors when you are looking for something specific or if you’re just in the mood to do a little shopping or eating. We want to provide you with information that will help you to think Choose Chelsea.

According to the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, there are 51 major categories of members – that’s a lot of different goods and services from which to choose. And not all businesses in town are chamber members.

Throughout the year, we plan to contact as many Chelsea business owners as possible and hope they agree to participate in this series of stories. And, we’d also like your help. As we begin the process, we’d like your suggestions. Tell us about your favorite businesses or perhaps even about ones you haven’t visited yet, but would like to learn more about.

We’ll make sure they know they were mentioned by a reader.

From flowers to insurance, banking to health care services, Chelsea has so many businesses and services to choose from. Maybe you are craving the perfect sandwich, gift, new outfit, supplies, furniture, appliance or something else? Who knows, Chelsea might have just what you are searching for, but you didn’t know this business exists here.

This year, we’d like to help you get to know more about all of them.

So, if you’d like to suggest a business, restaurant or service provider, please email me at [email protected] or call me at 734-433-1052.

Please leave a message if I don’t answer, as I am probably outside with staff members Aidan and Buzz or maybe even out interviewing and photographing folks in town for this year-long Christmas gift to the community.
