Face plant has taken on a whole new meaning for me.
I have been extra cautious since retina surgery No. 2 on June 4, and am spending as much time as possible on the new blow up bed — face down. Doing nothing.
Resting in this position just makes sense to me as it should continue to evenly distribute the oil slick in my eye that is hopefully keeping my retina attached.
I’ll know on June 26 when I go back to meet with my retina surgeon, Dr. Purohit.
Until then, my sincere thanks to everyone who has sent get well wishes, food, prayers and donations as I continue to heal and rest while bringing you the daily news.
I will say that staff members Buzz and Aidan have been great, keeping me company and in kind, I’ve been able to slowly get back into a little scent work training as well. Although they don’t care if they are sniffing out scents in the basement or around the property, I’m really hoping that we will be able to show again this fall.
The boys just love this new sniffing game and their enthusiasm for it puts a smile on my face. And I, in turn, am having fun devising new locations and distractions to make it a more difficult game.
