November is traditionally a month of gratitude topped off by my favorite holiday of the year – Thanksgiving.
No matter what is going on in your life, how can you not appreciate and find ways to celebrate a month devoted to “being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness?”
So yes, despite all my health issues and the setbacks I’ve experienced this year, as November unfurls, each day it becomes easier and easier to be more positive, more hopeful and more thankful.
As examples:
I’m thankful for my small, but mighty staff, who have pitched in and helped me publish Chelsea Update daily for all of you.
I’m thankful to my friends for all the help they’ve given me when I couldn’t do a lot of things for myself during my health issues.
I’m thankful for all the positive energy and prayers sent my way by this community as I continue to heal.
I’m thankful for Aidan, who has assumed nursemaid duties and the close bond that is developing through all of this. I love him a little more each day and as he grows up, he’s figuring out his role in our partnership on both my best days as well as on my worst.
And, I’m thankful (despite being quite behind with thank you notes and public acknowledgements) for the tremendous community support for my efforts to keep Chelsea Update publishing. If you would like to make a donation in any amount to my efforts, you can mail a check made out to Chelsea Update, 18829 Bush Road, Chelsea, MI 48118 or donate through Paypal on the home page of the website.

With the election over, I know there are folks who are happy and folks who are sad about the result. And like healing from a prolonged illness, it’s a process to sort through your thoughts and emotions.
But I hope you will lean on family and friends in good times and bad because these are the people who are truly there for you to make your life so much richer.
Lastly, I hope that you can find it in your hearts to be grateful that you live in the greatest country in the world, despite the political divide.
