Publisher’s message: Some tips on how to find things on Chelsea Update (and a plea for donations)

Antlers above the bar. Can you guess where?
Antlers above the bar. Can you guess where?

This week, I had several people tell me that they hadn’t seen a story on Chelsea Update that I’d either told them I would publish on a specific day or it was posted under a specific tab on the top of the page, but didn’t appear as an individual story.

So, here’s a suggestion for readers, there’s a search box at the top of the page – it’s a box with a green outline and says search in the center. You can find it right under the photo on the top right-hand side of the page.

If you’re looking for a story on a specific topic, say Chelsea Community Hospital, for instance, find the search box and type Chelsea Community Hospital into it and hit enter. Rather quickly, all the stories that I’ve written about the hospital will appear and you can look at the headlines or the dates to find the information you’re seeking.

I try very hard to bold face the names of key people, places, businesses, events, etc. so you can easily use the search box to quickly find specific information on those topics.

Another way to find stories is to click on the tabs on the top of the page that say obits, police blotter, events, news, at the market, etc. because all the stories are categorized by me when they are filed for publication, this also filters them for you.

Please keep in mind that the obits, and for the most part, police or crime stories, do not post as individual news stories, so be sure to click on those tabs when you’re on the site to find the most recent items.

Again, I’d like to thank everyone who has sent a contribution/subscription check or sent a donation through Paypal. As Chelsea Update is my fulltime job, and I don’t have backing from anyone, well, other than readers and advertisers, I so appreciate your generous donations.

If you like what you see on a daily basis, and would like to support my one-person efforts, please consider sending a donation of any amount to Chelsea Update, 18829 Bush Road, Chelsea, MI 48118. Or, donate through the Paypal button at the top of the page.

Until next time, happy reading.
