Below is a recap of some of the unofficial election results:
In Lima Township, there was an 81.85-percent voter turnout with voters electing two new Republican trustees to the Lima Township Board.
Of the possible 3,366 registered voters, 2,755 cast votes.
Greg McKenzie and Dale Luick will take seats at the board table.
McKenzie was the high vote-getter with 1,429 votes and Dale Luick tallied 1,303 votes.
David Hensel, who ran with no party affiliation, received 797 votes.
Running unopposed for supervisor was Duane Luick who received 1,651 votes, Elaine Bater ran for clerk and received 1,665 votes and Nanette Havens was re-elected as treasurer, receiving 1,657 votes. All three ran as Republicans.
In Lyndon Township, all candidates ran unopposed in the general election.
With an 83.88 percent voter turnout (1,884 voters of a possible 2,246 voters cast a ballot), Pam Byrnes will be the new township supervisor. She received 1,058 votes.
Linda Reilly received 1,072 votes for clerk and Kristen Brekke got 1,038 votes for treasurer.
Tim Eder (1,007 votes) and Robert Mester (961 votes) will join the Lyndon Township board as trustees.
In Sylvan Township, there was an 80.89 percent voter turnout and the township’s new supervisor will be David Brooks, who received 819 votes.
Also running with no party affiliation were Scott Cooper who got 634 votes and Clifford Camp who received 151 votes.
In the contested 3-way trustee race, Kurt Koseck was re-elected as a Republican with 1,134 votes and he will be joined by Sandra Schutze, a Democrat, who received 1,019 votes.
Amanda Nimke Ballard finished third with 991 votes.
In the treasurer’s race, incumbent Republican Rod Branham defeated Democrat Cyndi Jabara, 1,134 votes to 1,021 votes.
Running unopposed for clerk was Kathleen Kennedy, a Democrat, who received 1,424 votes.
How about including Dexter Township and City of Chelsea results as well…we are all part of greater Chelsea…
The City of Chelsea did not have City Council elections and other than some letters to the editor about the Dexter Township board race, Chelsea Update has not covered Dexter Township elections.
