Recent obituaries: Marilyn Ann Daoust, Virginia Dzengeleski

Marilyn Ann Daoust of Chelsea, formerly of Seattle, Illinois, Indiana and Plymouth, MI,  age 86, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2020 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.

She was born Dec. 3, 1933 in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of Elbert and Effie May (Dickey) Regan.

Marilyn was a member at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea. She was a secretary in Plymouth for 5 years and then stayed home with her 5 children. She loved having family and friends at their Chelsea home where all were greeted with open arms, enjoying cook outs, swimming, hanging out on the deck and sleepovers. Marylin had a very special way of making sure that those close to her were loved unconditionally. She also enjoyed crocheting and watching the Detroit Tigers on TV.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea, with the V. Rev. Dr. William J. Canon Turner officiating. Immediately following, burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Chelsea.

Virginia Dzengeleski passed away at home on September 14, 2020.

She was born, one of five children, to Leonard and Irene Pappas on February 24,1952 in Detroit.

Ginny, as she was known to friends and family, graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit in 1970. She married her husband James in 1974 and moved to Allen Park, MI where they raised their daughter, Samantha. In 1995, the family moved to Manchester, MI where they were active members of the community.

She loved to read, especially mysteries, volunteering at the Manchester Library in retirement. In 2011, the couple moved to Brighton, MI before settling in Grass Lake, MI in 2013.

A private memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2021.
