Recent obituaries: Thomas Nash Coy, Mark E. MacPherson

Thomas Nash Coy, age 80, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 in Chelsea.

He was born Jan. 24, 1939 in Ann Arbor, the son of Ashley Chauncey and Josephine (Nash) Coy.

Tom graduated from Dexter High School in 1957. He was an MP in the Army from 1962-64. Tom worked at Ann Arbor Implement in the 1960’s, and on the Dexter Fire Department. He owned “Coy Landscaping,” and did small engine repair. Tom was a former member of the American Legion. He enjoyed Karaoke at the Wolverine and Inverness Inn. Tom loved NASCAR racing, and camping in the infield.

A celebration of his life will be held June 23, from 2-6 p.m. at the Dexter American Legion Hall. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Dexter.

Mark E. MacPherson of Dexter, formerly of Bad Axe, MI, age 61, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Nov. 26, 1957 in Port Huron, Michigan, the son of Kenneth and Helen MacPherson.

Mark was a licensed electrician, and was a member of IBEW Local 252. He was self-employed as a Systems Integrator since 2000. Mark was a member of the Ann Arbor Moose Lodge, the Dexter American Legion, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 29, 2019, 3-7 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea. A celebration of Mark’s life to follow at the Dexter American Legion, 8225 Dexter-Chelsea Rd., Dexter.
