Recent Obituary: Brandon Payeur

Brandon Payeur, age 46, of Jackson, MI, passed away on Nov. 08, 2022, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

Brandon was born on Oct. 16, 1976, in Ann Arbor, MI to James and Kimberly (Naebeck) Payeur.

Brandon grew up in Saline, MI and was a Saline High School graduate class of 1995. He served as a paid-on call firefighter at Pittsfield Township Fire Department after high school while also operating his own lawn care service.

Brandon worked for the Jackson County Road Commission for the last five years. He loved his job and was one of the few people to be excited to see the snow falling in winter. He previously drove semi-trucks over the road hauling liquid sugar for Kuehnlein Trucking and hauling flatbed loads for Flat Out Trucking.

He enjoyed driving truck over the road and was especially happy when he could take one of his boys along with him on a haul. Driving trucks was his favorite job and there was not a piece of equipment that Brandon couldn’t drive or operate.

Brandon’s other great passion was farming. He enjoyed helping his dad on their family farm in Chelsea and arguing if red or green tractors were the best. He ran his own farm seed company Double J Seed Supply. He greatly enjoyed visiting all the local farmers every year to sell them seed and catching up on the local farm news.

While he enjoyed all things farm, his favorite time was fall harvest, hauling loads of corn and soybeans to John Marion’s, he loved finding out what the seed he sold produced each year.

Brandon had a gift for talking with people and no one was ever a stranger for long. He made everyone he met a friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

All services were private, and burial has taken place.
