Recent obituaries: Betty L. Hinderer, Lorraine (Worden) Mock, Brenda Marie Seitz Newland

Betty L. Hinderer of Chelsea, age 93, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 at the Chelsea Retirement Community.

Daughter of Clarence and Nina (Schroeder) Wahl, Betty was born on March 12, 1926 in Chelsea, MI, and she married Norman Hinderer on Aug. 17, 1946 in Rogers Corners.

Betty loved gardening—especially flowers, was a quilter and avid seamstress, enjoyed socializing, traveling, playing card games, and being on the farm.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Chelsea. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea, as well as at church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Lorraine (Worden) Mock of Grass Lake, age 99, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019.

She was born March 27, 1920 in Jackson, MI, daughter of Haskell and Edna (Paige) Worden.

Lorraine worked for Rockwell International for many years as a Press Operator. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, fishing, going to garage sales, and watching Western movies.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home with Rev. Kathy Schell officiating. Burial will follow at South Jackson Cemetery in Jackson, MI. Visitation was held at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Brenda Marie Seitz Newland of Ypsilanti, age 67, passed away on Nov. 13, 2019.

She was born in Ann Arbor, MI on Dec. 9, 1951, the daughter of Junior R. and Allyn M. (Kohsman) Seitz.

Brenda was raised in Chelsea and was Valedictorian of CHS class of 1970. She married Jeffery S. Newland on Sept. 10, 1998, and he survives.

Brenda loved her family and enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed reading, watching crime shows, and she had a special place in her heart for animals. She was a kind, loving, and genuine person and will be dearly missed by many.

In accordance with her wishes, all services will be private, and she will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery.
