Theodore “Ted” Kokenakes of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Ann Arbor, age 87, died Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the Chelsea Retirement Community.
He was born Jan. 10, 1936, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Frank John and Younoula “Jennie” Kokenakes.
Ted was a graduate of Ann Arbor High School. He owned and worked for several party stores in the Ann Arbor area. Ted retired from the University of Michigan where he worked in the Housing Department. He enjoyed playing the piano, traveling and U of M sports. Ted had a kind heart and touched the lives of many. For Ted, family was everything.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 20 2:00 pm at the Glacier Commons/Towsley Village Chapel.
