Reception planned for Nancy Flanagan at Chelsea Center for the Arts

Chelsea Center for the Arts (CCA) will host an artist reception for Nancy Flanagan on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 5-7 p.m.

Flanagan, a landscape artist, spent a significant part of her professional life painting and teaching in New England. She relocated to Ypsilanti in 2011, and is introducing herself by painting on site around downtown Ypsilanti.

She grew up in St. Louis, studied at The Studio School in NYC, The Maryland Institute in Baltimore, and Yale School of Art.

Flanagan then taught and painted in Massachusetts. She is currently teaching at Henry Ford Community College and Washtenaw Community College and CCA.

Her new work will be on exhibit from Feb. 1 through April 5 at CCA, 400 Congdon St. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-noon.
