Reminder: Chelsea Area Fire Authority open house Sunday

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Fire Capt. Scott Basar for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Area Fire Authority annual open house on Sunday, Oct. 13 from noon to 4 p.m., is a great opportunity for your whole family to learn what your first responders do on a daily basis.

In addition to the educational component, there will be bounce houses, face painting, popcorn, cider and donuts. Meet your firefighters and fire chief as well as HVA and Chelsea police officers.

Enjoy a petting zoo or try your had operating a Jaws of Life. Kids can spray water from a fire hose, learn what to do in a fire from hands-on learning inside the smoke house. Your children can sit in a fire engine and take home helmets and stickers as a reminder of this fun day at Fire House 1 on Middle Street.

This is also your chance to purchase a reflective address sign to assist first responders to find your home for 420 or purcahse a lock box for $35.
