Reminder: Chelsea Area Fire Authority ‘stuff a truck’ event Dec. 21 at Polly’s

The Chelsea Area Fire Authority (CAFA) firefighters are giving back to the community with a ‘Stuff a Truck’ event on Friday, Dec. 21.

Shop at Polly’s Country Market between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. and they are looking for non-perishable food, canned goods, diapers and formula, and you can help the firefighters “Stuff a Truck”.

In addition, they will be ringing the Salvation Army bell outside the front door of the store, and the ladder truck will be parked close by for the “Stuff a Truck” event.

So, you can immediately hand off your donations to the firefighters.

Please consider helping them spread good cheer and either buy non-perishable foods or drop off new and gently used clothing for folks of all ages.

The items they collect will be donated to Faith in Action.

Can’t make it on Friday? That’s OK.

From now through 9 p.m. on Dec. 31, you can drop off your donations at Fire Station 1 at 200 West Middle St.

And in all cases, if you include your grocery store receipt with your name and phone number, you could also win a special prize for your thoughtfulness.

Chelsea Fire Chief Rob Arbini said the person with the highest total will be presented with a breakfast prepared by the CAFA firefighters at the Chelsea fire station for up to six people on a Saturday morning.

(Should the firefighters be out on a call when you arrive, you can leave your items in front of one of the east side doors.)
