Thursday was a busy day for Dr. Nate Keiser, a Chelsea native, who saw patients, unveiled his new office, held a ribbon cutting and an open house for his new practice — Chelsea Chiropractic & Functional Neurology LLC in downtown Chelsea.

“I’m always excited to see a news business open, especially one as unique as Dr. Keiser’s practice,” said Bob Pierce, executive director of the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce.

In fact, about a dozen chamber members attended the ribbon cutting to learn about his unique practice and congratulate Keiser on his new practice at 140 W. Middle St., suite B.

Keiser’s clinic will provide both functional neurological and chiropractic care, and is one of only three practices in the state that provides this type of specialized care.

He said before the ribbon cutting that there are less than 500 certified chiropractic neurologists in the world.

Functional neurologists use non-surgical, non-pharmaceutical treatments of neurological disorders such as concussion, Alzheimer’s, migraines, dementia, Parkinson’s, and strokes, he said. Others who benefit are those with disorders such as chronic pain, vertigo or balance difficulties.

“The good thing about chiropractic and functional neurology is that people have the full ability to create a path toward wellness,” Keiser said previously, adding, “With home care and neurological exercises tailored to each patient, it allows them to take their health into their own hands and maintain long-term well balanced health whether their goals are to recover from a complex neurological problem, improve performance in athletics or to just enjoy an overall better quality of life.”

“For today’s society and stress, we could always use better backs,” said Chelsea Area Chamber President Bruce Szcodronski, adding, “We’ll spread the word.”
