Road Commission closing two Dexter Township roads for limestone work

Road closure planned

(Publisher’s note: The site officially launches a week from today, July 23, but this temporary road closure news couldn’t wait until then.)

Only local Dexter Township residents will be allowed to use Wylie Road between Dexter-Pinckney Road and Dexter Gables Lane during the day on July 17 while Washtenaw County Road Commission crews add limestone to the road.

Other motorists can use Dexter-Pinckney Road as an alternate route.

Limestone also will be added to Fleming Road between Dexter-Pinckney Road and McGuiness Road on July 17-18, so this segment of the road will be closed during the day to all but local traffic as well. This limestone work is expected to take two days.

Use Island Lake Road as an alternate route.

Keep in mind that road work is weather dependent.

  1. Hi Lisa – good luck with the launch !! I was just surfing around this morning to see if chelsea update had officially “changed hands”…so I see it will be mon. july 23. Hope you continue the Pierce Rock morphing. Happened to check out the obituaries…saw they weren’t current, but felt a bit of melancholy to see those chelsea folk we lost in 2010 such as businessmen Jeff Flintoft, Tom Bust, & Russ Armstrong; Sis Kanten, Dr. Krausse,Dan Whitesall; and gone too soon young adults Jillian Drow & Lt. Joel Christopher Gentz, et. al.

  2. Good Luck, Lisa!! I am looking forward to visiting your site often. I applaud you for requiring a name to comment – I think it will encourage healthy public debate and discourse and help restore civility to the public conversation.
