After close to two years, Robin Hills Farm, located just north of Chelsea off M-52 inn Sylvan Township, will be reopening on March 5.

Chelsea resident Adam Kovsky became the managing director of Robin Hills Farm in 2016 and says the farm temporarily closed its doors to the public in 2018 to restructure different parts of the business.

“Despite being closed, we continued to maintain the property in a state of cultivation for the 2019 growing season,” said Kovsky. “We look forward to reopening parts of the farm to the public in 2020.”

Kovsky, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the farm as well as for helping to set its strategic vision, says that he and the staff at Robin Hills appreciate the support they’ve received from the community and are excited to reopen the farm.

“We are committed to our mission to promote organic farming, education, and community,” said Kovsky. “The decision to reopen is the result of the work we’ve done to further this mission. Visitors can expect to see educational classes focused on food, farming, and traditional skills; local food and beverage items that feature ingredients grown on our farm and from around Michigan; and true farm-to-table dining experiences.”

He also says that Robin Hills’ network of nature trails will be open during normal business hours, which will be Thursday-Saturday, 12-8 p.m. to start.

The Prairie House is Robin Hill Farm’s main building and will be open for snacks and drinks including beer and wine.

The Robin’s Egg Classroom on the western end of the Prairie House will be open for educational classes and workshops and Kovsky is interested in hearing from instructors interested in hosting classes about everything from food and farming to arts and crafts.

He says that the farm is ready to host special events like birthdays, weddings, and team-building events and invites inquiries at [email protected].
