This Saturday’s Farmers Market will be the first on site market at Palmer Commons. It will run from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and vendors and shoppers are asked to follow market protocols.

According to Chelsea Farmers Market Manager Emily Griswold, “This will help us create a space that is safe for everyone to access fresh and healthy foods.”

Griswold asks that if you have any signs of illness, please stay home.

Everyone is encouraged to wear a mask, and vendors, volunteers, and market staff are required to wear a face mask.

Everyone is asked to practice social distancing of 6-10 feet and not to linger.

“Wash and sanitize your hands at our hand washing stations,” says Griswold. “One-way pedestrian traffic will be set up to reduce congestion – one entrance, one exit. Please follow the signs and cones.”

Vendors will choose, assemble and bag items. Shoppers are asked not to touch or sample any product they are not buying. Credit cards are encouraged though cash will be accepted, and not all vendors accept credit cards.

If you prefer to shop online and stay in your car to pick up ordered items, you still have that option. The pick-up window for online orders will be from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Palmer Commons. The deadline to order is Thursday at 6 p.m. Just go to the website https://openfoodnetwork.net/chelsea-farmers-market/shop.

Customers are asked to stay in their vehicle and display a sign with their name on it, and market volunteers will wear masks and observe proper social distancing while delivering orders and collecting payments from customers, which must be made with exact cash, credit card, or SNAP/DUFB.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to go to the market’s website- https://chelseafarmersmkt.org or to check for updates on social media.
