(Chelsea Update would like to thank Gretchen Zale for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Senior Center recently launched an exciting new program to help seniors stay connected with family, loved ones, and friends through the “Grand Pad System,” an easy and powerful tool for communication—as well as many other benefits, including:

  • Easily make phone and video calls
  • Take and share photos
  • Access the internet to stay connected to local and national resources
  • Browse articles related to your interests
  • Be up-to-date on weather forecasts
  • Listen to your favorite music and radio stations
  • Enjoy a selection of fun games

Currently, five area seniors are actively using “Grand Pads” and are enjoying the learning process.

Chelsea area seniors interested in more information about the benefits of a “Grand Pad” are encouraged to contact Senior Services Coordinator Jon Van Hoek, 734-475-9242.

Funding for this program is provided by the Chelsea Community Foundation.
