(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

We would like to thank fair-goers from Chelsea and the surrounding communities for purchasing food at our Kiwanis trailer.

Working at the Chelsea Community Fair is our biggest fundraiser and a record was broken this year. So far this fiscal year, which ends at the end of this month, over $30,000 been raised.

One hundred percent of this money will go to support civic projects and organizations. Some of which are scholarships for Chelsea Preschool, school teachers for children at Mott Hospital, South Elementary’s Bring Up Grades Program, Chelsea Boy and Girl Scouts, Faith in Action, and Cooper’s Fun Run/Walk.

This Monday, our speaker will be Bob Pierce, executive director Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce.

We will learn about his latest efforts to promote all things Chelsea, including results of this year’s Sounds and Sights Festival and Chelsea as the gateway in the Waterloo Recreation Area.

The meeting begins at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy-Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
