Autumn officially begins next week, so it’s time to stock up on your favorite vegetables and fruits that are almost out of season.

Melons are one of those fruits, and several vendors at this week’s Wednesday Chelsea Farmers Market will be selling a variety of melons including watermelon.

Late summer/early autumn fruits will be plentiful such as raspberries, plums, pears, and apples, and you’ll still find corn, tomatoes, zucchini and beans.

The Wednesday market is also the place to choose from a selection of breads, cookies, and cakes. You’ll also find eggs, honey, cheese, and meat.

Artisans at the market will be selling jewelry, birdhouses, soy candles, and pottery.

The market runs from 1-5 p.m. and is located at the Chelsea State Bank parking lot at the intersection of M-52 and Old US12.

Among the vendors at this season’s Wednesday market are Jacob’s Fresh Farm Shares, K’s Acres, Needle-Lane Farms, Pregitzer Farm, Bordine Farms, Golden Fleece Farms, Marks Farm, Kapnick Orchards, Affeathermations, LA Baguette, Stone Hearth Bakery, Awakened Provisions, Sweet & Salty (cookies), and Smellz So Good (candles).
