(Chelsea Update would like to thank Jan Bernath for the information in this story.)
John Daniels, president of Chelsea Lumber Company, will speak about the history of the company on Monday, Sept. 9 at The Depot beginning at 7 p.m.
A Chelea graduate, John has worked at the company full time since 1980. His father, Bob Daniels, told him that he would be hired with the understanding that he would be working from the bottom up with no special treatment.
After his father’s passing in 2012, John took over the presidency full-time and has no plan of retiring soon. When he does, Spencer, his son, will take over that position and is the 5th generation with Chelsea Lumber Company.
For historical society members, it is free to attend; there is a $10 fee for non-members.
