The three new people to toss their hats in the ring are current Council Members Dustin Suntheimer and Marcia Parker and Jane Pacheco.

Suntheimer and Parker have filed for 4-year terms and Pacheco for a 2-year term

At this point, current Mayor Jason Lindauer has no opposition for the mayor’s seat.

There are four candidates filed for the three 4-year terms: Suntheimer, Parker, current Council Member Cheri Albertson and current Planning Commissioner Melissa Johnson.

To date, there are two candidates running for the 2-year terms – Pacheco and Susan Moore.

However, it’s expected that current Council Member Frank Hammer will file for a 2-year seat.

Current Council Member Ann Feeney has said she does not plan to run for re-election and Council Member Rod Anderson is the lone member not up for re-election.

Interested candidates have until 4 p.m. on Aug. 13 to file an Affidavit of Identity and signed petition.

There are three 4-year terms, and two 2-year seats as well as the mayor’s seat up for election in November. If you plan to run for office, you must specify which seat you plan to seek.
