Here’s an update on the two Run for the Rolls’ participants – Jacob Nelson and Sophie Lash – who were finalists for the 2013 Governors Fitness Awards.
Lash, 14, recently won the individual Governor’s Council Conquering Obesity Award, which honors an individual who has conquered obesity through dedication to physical activity and healthy eating.
Nelson, 8, was a finalist in the Charles T. Kuntzleman Accepting the Challenge Award, which recognizes an individual who has overcome great challenges to pursue physical activity as a part of daily life.
Congratulations to both youth. What a great honor.
