It is the middle of summer and that means it’s time for Faith in Action’s Backpack Program.
Each year, FIA works with local sponsors to make sure students are ready to start school with a new backpack and supplies. FIA invites all its client households with school-aged children to participate, and then works with local individuals and groups who sponsor these students and purchase a backpack and supplies.
FIA is planning to provide 100 backpacks, each one individualized to a specific student.
This year, through a generous donation from the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Foundation, each student will also receive a gift card for new shoes and a breakfast kit with cereal, fruit cups, and granola bars to go along with the backpack and supplies.
