SRSLY Announces New Summer Movie Location

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Becca Jaskot for the information in this story.)

SRSLY Cinema will return this summer in a new location: Main Street Church, located at 320 N. Main St. in the Clocktower Commons just a short distance from last year’s location.

The new indoor location will allow SRSLY Cinema to be held every Thursday night, rain or shine.

“We are really excited to host SRSLY Cinema this summer and look forward to having the community join us,” said Main Street Church Pastor Josh Kuck.  “We think the combination of an earlier show time, the indoor location, and free popcorn will make for a great movie going experience.”

SRSLY Cinema will continue be held on Thursday nights after Sounds & Sights, from June 13 to Aug. 15.

A movie will not be shown on July 4 due to the holiday.  All movies will begin at 8:38 p.m. and are free to attend.

Free popcorn will also be provided to attendees.

The decision to move cinema inside was also based on sustainability and safety.

“It was a great event for 10 years, and I will miss the outdoor movies, but this is a great opportunity to keep it going, and provide a safe place for families to watch movies in town on Thursday nights, with comfy chairs – and no bugs, and no rain delays,” said SRSLY Regional Director Reiley Curran.

Due to indoor movie licensing restrictions, SRSLY is not allowed to advertise the movie titles this year; however, you can stop by Main Street Church each week to see what’s playing that week.  The lineup will include a variety of films, such as popular animated features and blockbuster hits.
