Through the generosity of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital-Chelsea and the local community, St. Louis Center held its 31st Annual Fall Dinner Auction on Saturday Nov. 10.

It was a true night of giving, as many special presentations were made to support the children and adults who call St. Louis Center their home.

As the silent auction rolled into the live auction, the presentations began with Cathy Bilinski of Azamara Cruise Lines presenting Fr. Enzo Addari, CEO, with a check for $30,335 representing the proceeds from the St. Louis Center Dream Cruise II to Italy in September 2018.

Then State Deputy William Chasse of the Michigan Knights of Columbus presented Fr. Enzo with a $20,000 check from the annual “Tootsie Roll Drive.”

Legacy recipient George Merkel of Chelsea presented Fr. Enzo with a $5,000 check, and Fiat Chrysler Automotive became the Center’s first Platinum Sponsor with another gift of $5,000.

Additional corporate sponsors this year included Dr. Donna Hrozencik and Mark Ouimet, along with Chelsea State Bank for $750 each.

Chairwoman Kathi Neuman of Chelsea remarked that, “Everyone who came to this year’s event had a great time, and we are truly grateful to the hospital and their staff for their food and hospitality.”

Joseph Merkel of Merkel’s Auction Specialists, Inc. provided his services for the live auction, and PR Director Joseph Yekulis was the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
