Stumped for a Valentine’s Day gift? Find it in Chelsea

Jeff Marl sales and lease consultant at Village Motor Sales.

Valentine’s Day is Thursday and in keeping with shopping local, here are some great ideas for that special someone in your life.

Yeah, it’s a wee bit more expensive than a card, but you’d sure make an impression with a new Jeep from Village Motor Sales. I was on the lot the other day and there are some pretty sweet rides in lots of great colors.

For something different — how about a great pair of boots from The Mule Skinner?

Or a gift certificate for an overnight stay at The Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn or Chelsea House Victorian Inn?

Chris (Mr. GiGi) Batsakis, who preps all the roses that come in Gigi's Flowers and Gifts.

Flowers, especially roses, are rather popular. Make the day special, but order early to ensure delivery from Gigi’s Flowers and Gifts or Chelsea Village Flowers.

How about clothes from Vogel’s and Foster’s or The Village Shoppe of Chelsea. There is always something new to be found.

There are bangles and bubbles in all sizes and shapes at La Jolla Fine Jewelry.

You could even give that special someone a card with a promise of a dinner or lunch for two at Common Grill, Cleary’s Pub, Mike’s Deli, Jet’s Pizza, Back to the Roots, Chelsea Grille, or hey, what about BBQ 52 when it opens its doors soon?

Budget tight? How about a yummy cupcake from Glee Cake & Pastry, or some old-fashioned candy from the Potting Shed? Ellie’s Café has a great selection of sweet perfections to choose from as well.

There are all sorts of unique finds at Chelsea Farmer’s Supply, Chelsea Antiques and Dayspring Gifts or Chelsea Antique Mall.

How about a special Valentine's Day Teddy Bear?

Yes, Chelsea’s downtown and southtown has it all. From computer gadgets of all shapes and sizes at Comtronics to balloons at the Dollar Store.

Your dog, cat, bird or gerbil shouldn’t be overlooked at Valentine’s Day, either. There are toys and pet gifts galore at Wags to Wiskers.

And, if you haven’t checked out the unique surprises inside Bumbles Dry Goods, Global Marketplace or Garden Mill, this is a great time to take a closer look.

There’s also Middle Bead and Just Imagine Books & Toys or a used book or four from Serendipity Books.

Valentine's Day box of chocolates from Ellie's Chocolate Cafe.

And, did you know that Chelsea Print and Graphics has a huge supply of scrapbooking supplies?

There’s art for all tastes at River Gallery and fun finds at Shabby Chic or fireplace accessories at Chelsea Home and Hearth.

Does your special Sweetie like beef jerky, cheese or smoked meats – check out the selection at True North Jerky Company.

And who doesn’t love a Teddy Bear? There’s a whole store full of them at The Teddy Bear Factory.
