Summer Internship Opportunity at Chelsea Senior Center Intergenerational Garden

The Intergenerational Garden at the Chelsea Senior Center seeks a summer intern to coordinate children’s programs related to organic gardening and healthy eating, and help maintain garden. 

This is a paid part-time (15-20 hours/week) position that is ideal for students pursuing careers related to horticultural education, since it involves the full cycle of children’s program planning, execution, and evaluation. The intern will also have the opportunity to gain leadership experience by helping the garden manager coordinate and communicate with volunteers.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Education or experience in children’s programing related to gardening or nutrition.
  • Basic gardening knowledge.
  • Ability to perform garden tasks such as digging, hoeing, and moving 5-10 gallon potted plants.
