Summer Showdown tourney champs: Chelsea U10 Travel Baseball Team

The Chelsea U10 Boys Travel Baseball Team, coached by Dave Schultz, Mark Bareis and Ryan Valik, won the 2013 Chelsea U10 Summer Showdown Baseball Tournament on July 20-21.

The team was undefeated in the tournament, winning all four games beating The Motor City Flyers in the championship game. The team played in the Grass Lake Summer Competitive League where they finished with an 11-1 record.

Throughout the season, the team had three championship appearances. They also won the Monroe Summer Slam Tournament and were runner up in the Grand Haven Tournament.

The  team’s overall record for the summer is 22-4-1.

Assisted by Chris Tarasow and Phil Lewis, and team plays in the Grass Lake Summer Youth League, and earlier in the season, the team won the 2013 Napoleon Wooden Bat Tournament on Saturday, May 25, in Napoleon.
