Taking the ‘Polar Plunge’ at The Big House for Special Olympics next month

Three brave Chelsea High School staff members will take the “Polar Plunge” next month in support of the high school’s Special Olympics’ athletes.

Principal Mike Kapolka, Assistant Principal Luman Strong and Athletic Director Jeremy Barkey are currently fundraising for the event that will help raise money for more than 19,000 athletes who participate in the Michigan Special Olympics.

For Kapolka, it will be his third plunge, and for the other two brave administrators, it will be their first.

This year’s plunge will take place at U-M  inside “The Big House” on Saturday, Feb. 23 beginning at noon.

Here’s a link to their fundraising page.

Please consider donating to this terrific cause and, of course, going to see these administrators’ take the plunge.
