Downtown Chelsea’s new social club, The Crazy Diamond, was welcomed by members of the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce at a ribbon cutting June 29.

The Crazy Diamond is located at 110 N. Main St. (formerly Wines on Main) and offers both a public happy hour and exclusive benefits for members. The bar serves a variety of beers, wines, and cocktails and food options in partnership with Brahma Haus. The walls of the club are decorated with the work of Michigan artists.

Owner Lynae MacLellan said the club actually opened in February.

“Today is a celebration of coming out of where we’ve been, and I’m ecstatic to celebrate with friends,” said MacLellan, referring to the limitations that were posed by the pandemic.

MacLellan’s 5-year-old son, Oliver, also participated in the ribbon cutting to welcome his own juice bar that will be available during Sounds and Sights.

The Crazy Diamond offers savings to patrons including at MacLellan’s other business, the Devil’s Haircut.

“I work with wonderful people at both businesses,” said MacLellan. “We work together to help everyone enjoy themselves.”

At The Crazy Diamond, public happy hours run from Wednesdays through Saturdays.

MacLellan says that for those who become members, there are invitations to private events and parties hosted by The Crazy Diamond along with other benefits. A portion of the membership fee is used to support local organizations dedicated to the advocacy, education, and support of mental health and wellness.
