Third Phase of Thornton Farms Subdivision Approved by Lima Township Planning Commission

By Lisa Carolin

The third phase of the Thornton Farms subdivision was approved by the Lima Township Planning Commission at its April 26 meeting via Zoom.

The phase three plan is for Pulte Homes to build 107 new residential units in the subdivision, which is located off Jackson and Parker roads. At this point, the township has done two reviews that include making sure there is sufficient water pressure as well as a sewer permit.

In other action, Cobblestone Farm, which received approval on a site plan and on a special use resolution by the Lima Township Planning Commission at its March meeting, received approval (Howard Sias recused) (Nanette Havens absent) on an updated resolution agreeing that events at the farm can continue through November of 2021, weather permitting, and that the planning commission will review the site in December of 2021.

Also, the Lima Township Planning Commission approved the application for the Coy Family Project site plan, contingent on a road agreement being recorded, getting approval from the Washtenaw County Road Commission, and further communication regarding the wetland area that is part of the property.

The Coy family project land division is located at 12005 Jerusalem Road and is a plan proposed by Ashley Coy, who owns 77 acres of land that he would like to divide among family members.
