Tickets are on sale for the annual Chelsea Education Foundation (CEF) Fundraising Gala, which will take place at the Common Grill on Monday, March 16, from 5-9 p.m.

The money raised supports the CEF scholarship program and grants to the Chelsea School District. Since 1990, CEF has raised over 1 million dollars, funding over 900 scholarships to Chelsea High School graduates and over 600 teacher grants for educational programs and initiatives which are beyond the resources of the Chelsea School District.

“As we move into our 30th year of serving the Chelsea School District, it is with great pride and humility that we carry on the vision of Joe Piasecki, the founder of Chelsea Community Foundation. The board is involved and committed to maintaining a high standard. We want to make the schools better for our kids by providing grants to teachers to enhance the educational experience of each child and scholarships to graduating seniors. None of what we do would be possible without the generosity of our donor community for which we will be forever grateful,” said Lynn Fox, CEF President.

The Gala begins with a Happy Hour from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a plated dinner from award-winning chef Craig Common. Wine and beer service is included. The evening includes musical entertainment, raffles, and a live auction.

Individual tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased at www.ChelseaEducationFoundation.org through March 6.

This event typically sells out quickly; seating is limited to 150 persons.

Chelsea Education Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3. Organized in 1990, the mission of CEF is to enhance the Chelsea School District’s educational experiences by financing projects beyond the resources of the district and by providing scholarships to district graduates.  Since its inception over 46,000 students have received benefits from the foundation, 600 grant programs have been funded ranging from art installations to robotics programs, and over 900 scholarships have been awarded to students with outstanding achievement.
