Time is running out to enter 22nd Annual Cavanaugh Lake Chili Chook-Off during Legion Winter Carnival

Attention all chili cooks — dust off your favorite chili recipe and enter the 22nd Cavanaugh Lake Chili Cook-Off on Feb. 2 in Sylvan Township.

With the temperatures expected to be the coldest of the winter this week, it’s a perfect time to make pick your favorite chili recipe, gather a team of assistants and let the chili making begin.

The winners of the annual cook off have bragging rights and take home trophies and cash prizes.

Because of space limitations, only the first 13 teams can enter the event that takes place during the Saturday of the Chelsea American Legion Post 31 Winter Carnival at the Herbert J. McKune Post Building at 1700 Ridge Road in Sylvan Township.

Sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 31, it’s one of the highlights of the annual 3-day Winter Carnival that takes place Feb. 1-3.

Here are the three documents you need to enter the Cook-Off. Click on these to open them in a new window, and print them out if you like:
